Key Usage Notes for SmoothSkin

• Can SmoothSkin be used before or after sun exposure (direct exposure to sunlight)?

Yes, SmoothSkin devices can be used year-round. We only ask that you take extra care during the summer months or when you are on holiday. There are some precautions to take before and after sun exposure – both in the case of sunbathing and prolonged exposure to sunlight, as this increases the skin’s sensitivity (it is not a problem if you have a little sun on your skin from being outdoors!).

Sun exposure before using SmoothSkin:

* Wait at least 48 hours after sun exposure before using SmoothSkin.

* Do not use SmoothSkin if you have sunburned skin and while the sunburn is still present.

* Please note that all forms of tanning darken the skin.

Sun exposure after using SmoothSkin:

* Your skin will be more sensitive immediately after treatment.

* Wait at least 24 hours or until all redness has disappeared before the treated areas are exposed to sunlight.

* Cover treated areas when going out in the sun or use sunscreen (SPF 50) within 48 hours after treatment.

• Can SmoothSkin be used with self-tanning products/fake tan, including self-tanning moisturizers?

No – Do not use SmoothSkin if you are using a self-tanning routine. There may be photosensitizing ingredients in self-tanning moisturizers that could affect your skin’s response to IPL.

• Can I use moisturizer, deodorant, or antiperspirant after a SmoothSkin treatment?

Yes, but only after treatment, not before.

• Can I treat my underarms if I have applied deodorant?

No. To avoid any possible interaction, the skin must always be kept clean and dry.

• Can I treat my underarms if I am using very strong antiperspirant treatments such as Odaban?

To avoid any possible interaction, the skin must always be kept clean and dry before treatment. We recommend leaving at least one week between applying Odaban and using SmoothSkin products. This is because Odaban and similar products can often cause skin reactions or dermatitis. If the skin is inflamed at the time of IPL treatment, there is a risk of burns.
